ZooBlocks - Block Puzzle Meets Zoo Tycoon
ZooBlocks starts as a bright, easy-to-read block puzzle, then opens into a full zoo-building loop. Solve puzzle levels to earn diamonds, use those diamonds to unlock and upgrade animals, and let your zoo feed back into your next high-score run. It is free, instant to load, and built to keep scaling.
The puzzle side rewards careful placement, line clears, color pops, and overlap combos. The zoo side adds longer-term progression: every animal you unlock raises your diamond income, which increases how rewarding each new puzzle becomes. The result is a faster, more satisfying progression loop than a pure score-chasing puzzle alone.
How ZooBlocks Plays
Each puzzle run gives you three animal pieces at a time. Place them on the board, clear full rows and columns, and set up same-animal groups so pops and line clears can resolve together. Puzzle score turns into diamonds, and diamonds are the fuel for your zoo.
Inside the zoo view, each animal adds passive diamond income while the game is open. Newer animals scale harder, so every unlock creates a meaningful jump in output. That output raises the value of future puzzle rewards, making both halves of the game strengthen each other instead of competing for attention.
- Level 1 starts on a 4×4 board. Boards steadily grow to reach 9×9 at level 15.
- The tray holds three pieces. Every cell of a piece must land on an empty cell.
- Two clear systems. Full rows and columns clear; connected groups of three or more same animals pop at the same time.
- 26 piece shapes and 6 puzzle animals keep runs readable even under pressure.
- No account needed. Progress, best score, zoo state, and daily streak save locally in your browser.

Scoring and Diamonds
Every cell you clear is worth 100 points. If a single placement clears more than one line at once, each additional full line doubles the line's value: one row clears at a ×2 bonus, and a turn that finishes a row plus two columns clears with a ×8 bonus on top of the base points.
Same-animal groups of three or more connected cells also pop, and the popped cells are added on top of the line points. When a placement finishes a line and pops animals in the same turn, the shared cells count on both sides, which is why overlap turns pay so much better.
When a level ends, the level score converts into diamonds multiplied by a zoo bonus. The bonus is your zoo income per second divided by five, so early runs convert at ×1 and developed zoos turn the same skill into vastly bigger rewards.
Build Your Zoo
The zoo unlocks after your first level clear. The starting bear costs 500 diamonds and produces 50 diamonds per second while the game is open, and the ladder climbs through fox, frog, bunny, cat, owl, penguin, lion, turtle, monkey, elephant, and dragon. Each later tier produces about ten times the previous one, so unlocking feels like a real jump every time.
Upgrades and unlocks both matter. The trick is to keep diamonds focused on the newest animal rather than spreading upgrades evenly, because newer animals give the best return per diamond spent.
Daily Challenges
Once the zoo is active, every day brings three fresh quests drawn from six templates: score in one level, clear rows, clear columns, pop animals, finish combos, or clear levels. Rewards scale with your zoo income, so daily play stays worthwhile in the endgame too, and a streak counter celebrates consecutive days of completed quests. A new set of challenges arrives at local midnight.
Meet the Animals
Six familiar animals appear directly in puzzle play, and the full zoo grows to 12 unlockable animals with stronger production tiers as you advance.
