About

Why ZooBlocks Feels Different

ZooBlocks is an independent, free-to-play browser game that runs entirely client-side with no downloads and no accounts. This page explains who runs it, how it is designed, and how the two modes connect.

Who Runs ZooBlocks

ZooBlocks is developed and operated as an independent browser game project. The game code, the guide pages, and this website are self-published; there is no studio behind it and no third-party developer publishing on this domain.

If you want to reach the site operator, use [email protected] or the contact page. Bug reports, feedback on guide accuracy, and balance comments are all genuinely read — several guide corrections came from players.

Design Philosophy

  • Readable art. Every board cell is a face, in one of six distinct colors, so board states scan in a glance even on a phone.
  • Instant starts. The game lives in a single page: no loading screens, no plugins, no downloads. Levels start the moment you press the button.
  • One loop, two layers. The puzzle gives fast feedback; the zoo gives a long-term layer. Neither works without the other — score feeds diamonds, diamonds feed income, income feeds the next score.
  • Honest economy. Every number on every guide page here comes from the same code that runs the live game; nothing on this site promises what the game does not do.

Accessibility and Languages

The interface supports switching between English, 中文, 日本語, and 한국語 from the in-game language button. Placement works with mouse drag, touch drag, or tap-to-select then tap-to-place on a grid, keeping the game usable with mouse, trackpad, or phone-sized screens.

The game stores saves locally in your browser. Players who want a fresh start can clear site data at any time; players who do not want analytics cookies can refuse them via the cookie settings link in the footer, and only the essential game will run.

What the Site Is For

The homepage hosts the game itself. Everything else documents it honestly: rules, scoring math, animal unlock levels with real costs and incomes, board progression, goal logic, and strategy that assumes you can lose. If a guide line ever disagrees with the game, the game wins — and the contact page fixes stale text.

The start screen is also the daily hub: quests, streaks, and the game itself, one tap apart.

How This Site Is Built

The whole site is static: one game page plus guide pages, served over a cookie-light experience. The game reads and writes only your browser's local storage. That architecture is why the game loads fast and works identically on desktop and mobile, and why the site can promise that gameplay data never leaves your device.

Project Status and Roadmap

Current status: the puzzle and zoo loop, daily challenges, four interface languages, and the guide set described above are live and maintained. Probable next steps, drawn from player feedback so far: additional guide depth for late-game economy planning, interface polish for very small screens, and clearer goal pre-reads before starting a level.

This section is updated as the project moves; the contact page is the right place for feature requests.
